I already exceeded June Camp NaNoWriMo’s total.
That’s a good thing, as I managed almost no significant word count for the remainder of the week due to catching a really nasty summer cold.
Just a few more days to go . . .
Not a bad week’s work. I would have liked it to have been higher but, as I’ve often said, “Any word count above zero is a good thing.” And this word count is well above that.
I think this weekend should see the end of the minor arc I’ve been writing for what seems like weeks. After that, I need to write one scene (or two) that ties it in and then tackle the climactic battle at the end.
Once again, I got ahead of myself and figured out what the sequel is about. I went ahead and wrote one of the scenes early in that book, netting me more than 2,100 words on that alone. The muse seemed very happy that day!
Okay then, back to it . . .
Not exactly a stellar performance for the week. However, it is well ahead of where I even was during Week 3 in July.
I lost a few days from a bout with the stomach flu that dropped my output to zero for two days and it took until after the weekend to get back up to speed.
I’m still trying to complete out one particular scene and then plan to move to the climatic scenes for next week.
Back to it!
Well, already this month I’ve hit more words than I did during more than the first three weeks of July camp. I had some really good days there before getting knocked out of action by a case of the stomach flu.
While reaching the 50,000-word mark would be terrific, my goal this month is to actually complete the first draft of my NaNoWriMo 2012 novel. Anything above and beyond that will be a bonus.
So, back at it. I have many words to get caught up on!
If something works that keeps you writing, remember it and use it again and often.
On a whim, I decided to indulge in the July 2012 session of Camp NaNoWriMo. I set for myself what I thought was a more reasonable goal of 10,000 words—and completed more than 28,000.
So here I am again.
As before, my goal here is to keep me honest and ensure that I write everyday with the intent of actually completing the first draft of my NaNoWriMo 2010 novel. It should require no where near 50,000 words to do so, so I will probably either settle for my word count when I reach that point or else “cheat” and start on another project to work up to the goal.
